What Is Not Used Is Wasted

Every day is an opportunity for improvement. There will always be obstacles in the road but it is what we choose to do when we meet these obstacles that counts.

Each time we reflect back on a mistake we have just committed, it becomes just a little bit easier to let things slide. So often we hear people say, “Well, I screwed this up so the rest of the day is shot.”
They can be talking about something they ate, a workout they missed, or whatever. Perhaps they had a few too many drinks. The point is, a mistake doesn’t last long. It’s how you deal with that mistake that makes the lasting impression on your life.

Every time we make a mistake, miss a workout, are a bit lazy, or don’t eat that well brings us to a crossroads. This crossroads may be small, but remember no matter how small the crossroads is, it sets your life down a new path. And, if followed, over time becomes a habit, a new way of thinking, and a new way of living.

When we look at it this way, every choice becomes an opportunity, an opportunity to commit the mistakes of the past, or to make that tiny decision in the moment to do something different, something that will end up making our lives easier tomorrow. When you reach those little crossroads, take the time to step back and see how your decision will make you feel tomorrow.
