Shortcuts

The health and fitness industry is an industry like just like any other. It is an industry that spends billions of dollars each year marketing “new” and “better” ways to get fit faster. But are these ways all they are cracked up to be?

Today we are inundated by TV commercials full of new fangled gadgets, ridiculous new fad diet books or wonder drugs that are all marketed as the best and fastest way to get you to lose weight. The real aim however, is different. They are designed to do one thing, get you to spend your money. We have news for you, staying fit and healthy is done in the same way today as it was 5000 years ago. You eat well, and you lead an active lifestyle.

Shortcuts almost never work. Do you actually believe that by doing some oddball abdominal exercise for 2 minutes is going to give you abs like the MODEL advertising it? Can you honestly tell yourself that you believe that if you take one pill your whole body is going to look shredded? Will it make you look tan as well?

Of course we are being sarcastic because thinking you can look the way the men and women selling the product do, simply by taking a pill or using some kind of new fangled exercise device is no different than thinking you will get as tan and have teeth just as white from that same pill. Perhaps it will even make you smarter too? We need to wake up. These people are models. Models that worked their butts off to look like that.

We as a society are like the proverbial fly beating its head against the glass over and over again trying desperately to get a different result from doing the same thing. We spend millions every month on shortcuts that do not work. Marketing companies spend millions of dollars to SELL you on the idea that there is a way you can be lazy and still look like a Greek God or Goddess.

So are we saying that all of these fast ideas are bad? Of course not, but if you are going to spend your money, it needs to be on something that actually will give you the results you desire. In short, something that actually works.

There are no short cuts. However, there are ways to get much more out of far less time simply by working smarter. We simply have to relearn how to exercise correctly once again. And this can be done without any new fangled equipment, or dangerous weight loss supplement. And once you learn, you will begin to laugh at these “fads,” knowing you have all the answers.
